The Distinguished Order of Disobedience (The D.O.O.D.) Unleash New Music Video “Subterfuge”

Unleashing their latest single “Subterfuge” this past February, Florida's The Distinguished Order of Disobedience (The D.O.O.D.), is ready to unveil its new music video for the track. Calling back to the days of thrash metal this song has a defiant spirit. The band explains the track and video.

"This song is about how the government and media will lie to suit their purposes and draw attention from matters that are of actual importance. For the video we band wanted to find a way to embody the idea in a story so we came up with the idea that we as a band were starting to get too vocal about the corruption inherent in the system and in order to keep his reputation a Governor running for president decides to take a hit out on the D.O.O.D. in order to help silence the dissension growing against him. At that point we thought well we have a beginning and an end, we need something for the middle- so since subterfuge as a word is very much associated with spying, we made a spy template character to be the people doing the secretive things that would lead up to the hit. As is true to form with the way we usually do videos, we like to have them a bit lighthearted or campy while still getting the point across, so even though all of the spy guys are different, there is no way to really tell them apart with any accuracy and to further that- there is no way someone in a fedora, ski mask, black gloves, and a trench coat is going to go unnoticed in this day and age. It all culminates in the very final scene, and I feel that sums up one of the lines in the song pretty well- You haven’t heard the last of us."

“Subterfuge” follows the success of their January 2024 single release, “Chaos for the Fly”, and will be featured on the band's upcoming studio album in mid-2024. This single, along with the upcoming full-length is the next evolution of The D.O.O.D.’s music. They try to change a little with every album without compromising who they are, and this release moves them forward while paying homage to some of their favorite metal influences. They hope listeners will find “Subterfuge” exciting and thought-provoking, all the while keeping things fun.

Established in 2004, The D.O.O.D. has steadily risen to prominence, captivating audiences with their unique blend of hard-hitting music and theatrical stage presence. With five studio albums under their belt, direct support for numerous national acts, and a standout performance at one of America's largest music festivals, The D.O.O.D. is rapidly solidifying their place on the national stage. They are recommended for fans of Lamb of God, Pantera, and Avatar.

“Great Live Show!!!!” - STEPHANIE JENSEN (Former A&R For Chuck D, Infernal TV)

“ Great show!! I like the added video aspects and the sound is very muscular.” - MATT LaPLANT Producer

"Some bands are monsters in the studio. Others are killers on the stage. Occasionally, a select few pop up that are masters of video. The truly rare ones, however, are fully capable of blowing your senses in any medium they want. Sarasota’s own The D.O.O.D. (short-hand for The Distinguished Order of Disobedience) is firmly entrenched on that shortlist of acts that can (and will) snatch you by the hair and subject you to the thunder… in every way imaginable." - BamRising - The Sound of the Underground
