Missing since October 6 2023, Brisbane/Meanjin's alt-rock outfit The Dandys, have left local punters concerned after being promised "Big things coming soon". A search began across their social media in February with curious rewards of exactly $12.04 (plus vapes and beers) for any information about, or, for the return of the following members:
- Mads, described as; short king, sad eyes, shit tatts, an undying love for the Brisbane Lions
- Felix, described as; 7'10, Anya Taylor-Joy looking MF, cane toad enthusiast, grill master
- Henry, described as; 6ft, soulful eyes, kind chin, luscious curls, monty python superfan
Worried fans reported potential sightings of the band, but all leads so far are either slighted comments or jokes implying Mads is a sewer rat; that yes, Felix does in fact look like Anya Taylor-Joy; and that Henry being 6' is a joke - as if this whole thing is an elaborate hoax and a way to hype up their next release.
Reddit users have speculated that the reward of $12.04 is actually the exact amount of money the band made in 2023, others say it's the marketing team alluding to a key date like 1204BC or perhaps even April 12.
With no real information to go off, concerns from fans wanting new music are only growing, and the reputation of the industry representatives who backed this band as an emerging "big thing", is officially on the line.
Things are certainly not so dandy for this outfit. Live updates to follow.
