The Burgers’ New Single “Are You Really Listening to Music?” - out now!

Glasgow, UK – Punk band The Burgers released their new single, “Are You Really Listening to Music?” on March 14, 2025. This was the lead single from their upcoming album, set for release on May 2, 2025.

The song’s lyrics were inspired by an actual hardcore band from Dundee, and it humorously critiqued some iconic figures in the punk music industry. It also tackled the phenomenon in punk culture where live shows, socializing, partying skills, and subculture were prioritized over the music itself, with catchy melodies and simple chords inspired by Green Day and Ramones.

Bio

The Burgers originated from Beijing, China, starting as Zac Burger(电未)'s solo bedroom project. His style is primarily punk and folk punk. He started writing songs and producing them all in his bedroom from beginning of 2020.

He's both a fighter and a kid. You can think of his songs as beautiful missing person ads or fists raised towards the sky. Throughout his life, he has been looking for a group of beautiful people. If you are the person he's looking for, please contact him.

In November 2022, he released the albums "Amusement Park Of Beijing" and "Stay Or Run Away," as well as the EP "The Run Away Trilogy."
In August 2023, he collaborated with Seattle artist Harder Wins, whom he met online, to release a folk punk split album.

In November 2023, Zac ran away from his hometown, unable to bear the dirty rock music scene in China, which glorifies pseudo-profundity, promiscuity, and misogyny.

To find another girl who could bring him the same feeling as the one who had died, just like the songs of the Glaswegian indie pop band Bubblegum Lemonade, he landed in Glasgow.
