Teenage Metal Sensations Unveil New Music Ahead Of September Live Shows & Festivals
Within Reach may be teenagers, but they mean serious business. Packed with talent and licks that would impress bands with members twice their age, the London/Essex metal quintet are here to make a serious impression in the second half of 2024.
Their upcoming new single, Armageddon, is a brutal, yet excellent introduction to showcase exactly what these young men are capable of. Armageddon is released today, 6th of September, and is available for streaming on Spotify on this link.

Here's Within Reach guitarist and clean vocalist Bailey Dopson to fill in some more of the details about their brand new single:
"‘Before I get into the actual meaning behind the song for some of us when we wrote it, I will always say to anyone to look at any lyrics from any of our songs and take something from it they can relate to something that’s personally happened to them so that each of our songs mean different things to different people which is what I think makes music so powerful.
The major theme behind the song is about someone important in your life that you know isn’t good for you but you still have attachment to them, so the song tells the story of someone trying to break that cycle. The chorus lyrics talk about how you might have so many thoughts and pent up emotion about a certain situation or person but when it gets to that moment, when you are face to face with that person and you have to opportunity to say what your mind has been racing over, your mind goes blank and you feel kind of numb in the moment because you’ve thought about it so long.
As well as this, the whole ideology of “dancing with the stray ghost of a person that I used to know” describes still dealing with past traumas that may create struggles you face in the present time because of someone in your past."
Within Reach stormed fully to life at the beginning of last year, and have already collaborated with renown alternative clothing brand Mary Wyatt and been invited to play a show in Germany - which was their second ever live show! Since then, they've been busy honing their craft, taking up every live opportunity they can.
On that note, are plenty of opportunities to catch Within Reach live over the next few weeks. You can catch them opening for This Dying Hour in Cambridge at The Six Six on the 15th of September, and there are also headline shows in Northampton (26th) and a hometown headliner in Sheffield (27th). Within Reach will also play two of the UK's fastest rising independent festivals at the end of the month; Misery Loves Company in Bristol on the 28th, and Hometown Festival at The Hairy Dog in Derby on the 29th.

About Within Reach
Within Reach are a young melodic metalcore 5-piece hailing from London/Essex. Part of a modern movement that will shape the next generation of heavy music in the UK, the band are intent on pushing the genre forward with their high-energy, fast paced and emotive brand of metal.
In Summer 2023 the dark fashion brand Mary Wyatt used their track “In My Eyes“ in social media ads for their official merchandise collaboration campaign with Download Festival, shown on the main stage screens at the event. Towards the end of the year the band released their debut EP “Pariah”, featuring lead singles “Plead” and “Shadows”, both received with high praise. In December the band were invited to Essen, Germany to play at Curtain Call alongside The Narrator and Elwood Stray; not only their first show outside of the UK, but their 2nd show anywhere, having headlined their debut live show only the week before at a very busy Brewhouse in Colchester.
At the start of 2024 the band joined the Down For Life Music family, the home of some of the best metalcore and alternative rock talent the UK has to offer, including Chuggaboom and Two Year Break, and were invited to open 4 dates of Crushed By Waves’ debut album tour in May.
With new music now here for the Autumn and a raft of live shows incoming, this is just the start of an exciting future for Within Reach.
