SWEDISH TIKTOK POP ARTIST REVEALS NEW SINGLE ‘WITHOUT CALLING’

Hot on the heels of his debut EP Headed North, rising pop singer-songwriter NOEL is set to release his moody and melancholic new track ‘Without Calling’, out 10th May.
With over 10 million views on TikTok thanks to his viral bedroom covers, the talented Stockholm-born NOEL made his first foray into officially releasing his own music throughout 2023 with a string of singles, which culminated in the sweeping piano pop EP Headed North released in March this year. Now, the singer-songwriter is stepping into his new era, with the wonderful ‘Without Calling’. Starting from a gentle guitar pluck that gives way to a rich crescendo, NOEL’s warm vocals carry a wealth of emotion, ruminating on a fractured relationship.
NOEL: ‘“Without Calling” is about the struggle between doing what you want and what’s right. In this case it's about wanting to love but not feeling good enough for it, which ends up with you distancing yourself from it.
The song was written in my cabin with 2 of my favourite songwriting friends and I think it only took us about 2-3 hours to write. I find that there is something quite magical about going away to a cabin and writing without all the studio gear, just us and a guitar. The sound is a little bit rougher and dirtier than my previous stuff which is a path I fell into naturally and really enjoy making and listening to."
Before capturing the hearts of millions on TikTok with his captivating bedroom covers, NOEL's early years were consumed by his love for football. It wasn't until a knee injury abruptly ended his football dreams at the age of 17 that music truly took centre stage in his life. Slowly but surely, NOEL started exploring his musical talents by singing in the shower and learning a few piano chords.
Soon he would spend hours each day playing instruments and singing, a routine he still follows with unwavering dedication. NOEL's journey as a songwriter began unexpectedly when his TikTok covers attracted the interest of industry professionals. At the age of 21, he has already collaborated with seasoned songwriters and producers, channelling his innate talent and passion into his own original compositions.
