People trapped in the clutches of conflict have had their plight heard by singer-songwriter, Jamie Webster as he releases How Do You Sleep At Night? an anti-war protest song, from which all of the artist’s earnings will be donated to the British Red Cross.

Renowned for pursuing those in power – whether politicians in government or ticket resellers profiteering from the desperation of real music fans – Webster’s views on the war machine, those who profit from pain and destruction and those who seek to turn away victims of conflict are made plain on the gently sung, yet direct, acoustically-driven track. While written long before the shock of the outbreak of new waves of violence, and the heartbreaking images of pain and loss hitting the news every day, How Do You Sleep At Night? is an unambiguous call for peace.

By supporting a humanitarian charity that seeks to do the vital, life-saving work in countries hit by war and natural disasters, as well as offering a life-line to those that have fled as refugees, the singer-songwriter aims to raise both funds and awareness.

Webster says: “This is a song about war, which is wrong in any scenario. It’s a plea to stop the killing and help the people who've been forced to flee their war-torn country and granted refuge elsewhere. It’s also a plea to the governments of the countries who encourage these wars to look at their contrary right-wing policies on immigration, when they are, in fact, part of the reason that these people have had to flee in the first place.

“It finally calls to the profiteers of warfare who provide arms and other equipment to both sides of the fence with no moral compass whatsoever as long as they're surrounded by their walls of money. Finally, the question to anyone who contributes in any way to the violence of any modern warfare; how do you sleep at night?”

How Do You Sleep At Night? is the fourth single to emerge from Webster’s upcoming album, 10 For The People released on Fri 2 February 2024. Originally excluded from plans as he works his way, single-by-single to the follow up to 2021’s hugely successful, Top 5 album, Moments, the main stage, arena-filling artist was spurred into action to try and do anything to support the provision of aid to impacted areas, including Gaza, having recorded the peace-promoting album-closer.

Striving for fairness and equality at every turn, Webster also recently announced an intimate, homecoming show before Christmas, where children are invited to attend. Having heard the feedback from families who told him they’d like to share a gig together, the date at Liverpool’s O2 Academy can be attended by children as young as 8-years-old, while under-13s must be accompanied by an adult.

Those shows come ahead of a momentous 2024 for Webster, as looks forward to a huge, 40,000-capacity, outdoor summer show in the same city’s Sefton Park. Counting in the big ones with as much intensity as the smaller ones, Webster has also announced a series of eleven, in-store appearances for January. Webster’s activism through song has found numerous like-minded individuals working to hold power to account, not least Labour MP and former Shadow Chancellor of The Exchequer, John McDonnell, who recently quoted summer single, Voice Of The Voiceless in a parliamentary debate in the House Of Commons. Earlier this year, Webster collaborated with the renowned, politically-influential singer, Billy Bragg, on the single, Fickle Fran.
