Birmingham six piece rock band Sunshine Frisbee Laserbeam are pleased to reveal their new single ‘Thieving’ which is out now on all good DSPs.

The track is the final single to be taken from their forthcoming new album, Mortuary Pantomime, set for release on 4th August 2023 and available to preorder now.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Tom Livemore at Backbeat Studios, forthcoming album Mortuary Pantomime is the first new material from the band in 5 years.

Commenting on the new single, lead vocalist Pete Dixon says: “Thieving is about how people perceive one another, and letting go of the perceptions you can't control. It takes so much energy to hold a grudge, forgiveness is a powerful drug.”

Formed in 2013, everyone’s favourite weird-on-purpose rock band are finally back with a roaring follow up to 2018’s critically acclaimed Blackout Cowboy album. Forthcoming new record Mortuary Pantomime is an 8 track, sub-30-minute album, whittled down from around 20 songs to create the most concise set of material from the band yet, never outstaying their welcome, and leaving the listener always wanting more.

Expanding on the Weezer and Titus Andronicus-referencing layered college rock sound they created on Blackout Cowboy, the resulting material is both heavier and more dynamic.

"I think we learned over the years to condense down the length of our tracks to pack a more precise punch, without losing the theme of the individual track,” enthuses Bullock. “For me this album is the most accurate sounding to our live performance you can get, which is what I love about it. We were very careful with the songs we chose on this record to work together as a whole set. A lot of work went into the record and it’s my favourite S.F.L. album yet.”

The band will be playing a run of August/September 2023 UK headline tour dates in support of the album, with tickets on sale now (see below for listings).
