SUCKER PUNCH PREMIERE BLISTERING NEW SINGLE
“WORST CASE ONTARIO”
New Jersey pop punk band Sucker Punch have released “Worst Case Ontario,” the lead single off their upcoming Better Pleasures EP.
“Worst Case Ontario” kicks off with a bang and never lets up, with elements of early Neck Deep and The Story So Far combined with an easycore edge pioneered by scene mainstays like A Day to Remember. Lyrical themes revolve around betrayal and inertia, with a climax at the anthemic refrain, “This small town will never be the same / Devil’s Kettle will become my grave.” With a propulsive rhythm section and impassioned vocal-guitar interlock, it’s crafted for mosh pits and crowd sing-alongs.
Guitarist Billy Butka spoke about the band’s inspiration for the track, “Worst Case Ontario is based off of the universe for cult classic movie Jennifer's Body. It's about a temptress luring you in, just to have your heart ripped out. We suppose those who've had their hearts metaphorically ripped out can relate as well.”
Sucker Punch’s 4-track Better Pleasures EP is slated for a fall release, with a feature from Chris LoPorto of Can't Swim. “Worst Case Ontario’s” music video, directed by Eric DiCarlo (Lorna Shore, Chelsea Grin, Veil of Maya), features the band trying to escape a monstrous mess after consuming a mysterious beverage. Watch the video’s exclusive premiere now on BVTV.

ABOUT SUCKER PUNCH
Sucker Punch is a fresh and hard-hitting band with old ties to both the New Jersey and Philly DIY punk scenes. Garnering influences from The Story So Far, early Fall Out Boy, and New Found Glory, this band bridges the gap between the early 2000s emocore wave of bands, and the current movement of emo and pop punk. Sucker Punch aims to take a strong focus on personal and self-reflective lyrical content, framed within upbeat and catchy riffs and melodies. Within months of starting as a solo project, the band now consists of lifelong friends who all share the same passion for both alternative music and culture. Their soon-to-be released EP Better Pleasures will take the band’s sound in a more dynamic and anthemic direction.
