Born from backing CBGB legend Ivan Julian, new band ST. DIVINE to announce a new series of performances beginning SUNDAY, JAN 5 following their FM radio debut on WGXC 90.7 & WBMB 94.3
After a successful fall run of live performances ranging from Catskill NY to Neversink River to New York City’s Lower East Side, the dynamic new band St. Divine will continue live performances in 2025 starting in Brooklyn on January 5th at Young Ethel’s 506 5th Ave at 3PM with power pop music scene stalwarts The James Rocket. Next for St. Divine will be the inaugural performance of a planned tribute series on Jan 15th at La Palapa 77 St. Mark’s Place in New York City where they will present the songs of Bob Dylan
Will Croxton and Judy Ann Nock are the dual frontpersons of St. Divine. The pair initially collaborated as the kickoff act for the annual Sally Can’t Dance Tribute to The Cramps at Bowery Electric in October 2023. Since then, Croxton and Nock have rapidly gained momentum, interest, airplay and a press following while expanding their repertoire and audience with multiple appearances at The Parkside Lounge, providing local support for Iowa based band, The Rumors, and most recently at the Delancey December 19th while garnering positive reviews in Obscure Sound, Last Day Deaf, Wax Vinyl Records, Music News Monthly, and other popular music blogs. Their songs have gone in rotation on Signal to Noise Radio in Palenville NY on WGXC and WBMB Baruch College Radio.
Origin Story
Croxton and Nock met as the backup singers for Ivan Julian (founding member of Richard Hell & the Voidoids who has recorded/played with The Clash, Matthew Sweet, etc.) at his City Winery career-spanning retrospective “Without a Net” in December of 2022. Croxton was the co-author of the title track lead single from Julian’s latest album, Swing Your Lanterns, for which Nock provided backing vocals on the recording issued by Pravda Records (Chicago). The two ended up performing side-by-side along with luminaries from the New York City music scene including Al Maddy (Joey Ramone, Jesse Malin), Mike Ratti (Morgen, Hot Hero Sandwich, Rex Smith) who joined them in recording new material as St. Divine together with bassist Jesse Barnes and guitarist Philip Yanos (Driver X).
