South-West Pysch-Shoegazers COSM announce debut self-titled EP to be released on Krautpop! alongside accompanying UK tour dates
Future psych-gaze stars COSM have unveiled their debut self-titled EP, creating an all-encompassing sonic wave of success out of the ruins of disbanded projects, personal turmoil and transatlantic upheaval.
Following on from a whirlwind start to 2024 which saw the half US/half UK quartet go from zero to one-hundred in seemingly no time at all, COSM’s year has consisted of a solid performance schedule around the UK’s South-West. COSM have appeared on lineups with some of the country’s most exciting up-and-coming acts such as Mother Vulture and Blank Atlas, as well as Torquay’s Burn It Down Festival, Wanderfal, Whisper Fresher’s Fest and more.
About the EP, vocalist/guitarist Tom Hunter said “it’s a culmination of the emotions and experiences that came with uprooting everything in the US to move to the UK [with brother and bassist Jim]. Sound-wise it sits somewhere between psych and shoegaze, but also draws all sorts of influences from the last fifty years of music and culture. It’s been pretty liberating to take away the rules and focus on writing. These tracks came about just when I needed them the most.”
To accompany the digital release of their self-titled EP on October 30th, COSM are touring the UK throughout October and November.
