South West London indie specialists Slaney Bay announce ‘The Long Way Home’ EP (pre-order here), set for arrival May 30th, and release its thrilling title-track, out today (April 9th).
Heralding the third reveal from their upcoming EP, the rising quartet have recently been named on the Glastonbury 2025 Emerging Talent Longlist, following on from widespread acclaim throughout the press community (Billboard, The Independent, Dork, The Line Of Best Fit, Rough Trade, Under The Radar) and multiple spins across the BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders) and BBC 6 Music (Steve Lamacq) airwaves.
With appearances already ticked off at the likes of Left Of The Dial and Supersonic in recent months, alongside a UK tour support for She’s In Parties, Slaney Bay’s live prowess is certainly growing at an impressive pace, with an EP launch show also lined up for The Lexington, London this June.
Detailing their newest single, bandleader Whitley explained: “‘The Long Way Home’ is a song about the quiet ache of young love. The idea came from a night when I deliberately missed my final train out of central London, just to spend a few extra moments with my crush. I took the longest route possible with them because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I didn’t know if they felt the same way, but then I realised - they had taken the long way home too. My journey home felt never-ending, but I’d do it again in a heartbeat for them.”
Slaney Bay’s ‘The Long Way Home’ is out now and available on all digital platforms.
Slaney Bay are Cait Whitley (lead singer), William-Nicola Thompson (lead guitarist), Joel Martin (bassist), Jonny Burraway-Andrews (drummer)
