Emerging as one of the most exciting up and coming duos across the pond, Girl Tones kick off 2025 with the release of their introspective and gritty new single ‘I Know You Know’, produced by Cage The Elephant’s Brad Shultz..

Straying slightly from their usual high-energy raucousness, Girl Tones deliver a more subdued sound on ‘I Know You Know’. With ethereal vocals carried by slow, hypnotic guitar, the track showcases the band’s more delicate side. “When you have a falling out with a self-proclaimed pathological liar, you question everything,” lead singer Kenzie said of the track. “And that’s exactly what happened to me”. Their familiar lyrical vulnerability and rawness is ever-present, but taking on a softer, more intimate form. Listen to ‘I Know You Know’ HERE.

Alongside the release, Girl Tones head out on tour with Cage The Elephant and Sunflower Bean in February with a string of dates across Europe, including two dates at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on February 17th and 18th. The band have also announced a free headline show at London’s Old Blue Last on February 19th at 20:00.

Both classically trained musicians, the Kentucky based sibling duo traded in their cello and piano for the guitar and drums, metamorphosing into the high-energy rock band back in 2017. Their music is rooted in garage rock, shaped by the sounds of The White Stripes and Beck, but are also heavily influenced by the Riot Grrrl movement, channelling their unfiltered female rage into blistering, unapologetic anthems. Girl Tones’ classical training is evident throughout their intricate musicality, but perfectly disrupted by their untamed punk energy.

Having released singles including ‘Fade Away’, ‘Again’ and a captivating cover of Radiohead’s ‘High and Dry’, in their short, but mighty existence, the band have already garnered a dedicated following, as well as crossing off bucket list venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. The future looks bright Girl Tones.
