SINGLE REVIEW: Weekly Round-Up 25/09/23 - 01/10/23

Giacomo Roppa - Cold Blood

A gripping extended intro of pulsating hooks leads to raucous, intense vocals filled with frantic energy and a raw tone. 'Cold Blood' intrigues by incorporating electronica elements into its chaotic punk bass, weaving an intricate path between rock and something more mainstream. The drums thunder and provide a high-impact heartbeat to the track, while the guitars deliver big riffs and an expressive sound. Giacomo's vocals are electrifying with their distinctive, attitude laden tone. 'Cold Blood' is a diverse, genre-bending listen.

Dream Pusher - Time of Day

Father and son duo Dream Pusher share anthemic classic rock banger, 'Time of Day'. Enigmatic coarse vocals with a gripping Americana rasp bellow over the sublime, hooky, punchy guitars as they intertwine with crisp drums and melodic keys. 'Time of Day' blasts through an 80s-inspired hard rock sound. The addition of a powerful, shredded guitar solo electrifies the track, incorporating a modern, metal-laced element into the song.

Dirty - Lasso - Pretty Little Witch

A dazzling groove, accompanying arthouse vocals that contrast with raw intensity, 'Pretty Little Witch' enthrals with its fusion of blues, alt rock, and funk. The persistent walking bass provides a resonant backbone, while the evolving chord progressions and dynamic riffs intricately layer depth. Meanwhile, the drums craft an infectious, funky melody. 'Pretty Little Witch' is a captivating tune, exuding enthralling yet somewhat laid-back energy and an irresistible heartbeat.

‘Pretty Little Witch’ is lifted from the EP “Sun Still Rises”

Jus Rus - Remote Cowboy

'Remote Cowboy' gloriously combines the Americana laced twang of country within the verse with the raucous energy of punk within its catchy as hell chorus. Captivating reverby guitars churn beneath Jus Rus' wonderfully soulful yet rugged vocals. While the drums provide a rhythmic heartbeat beat to the track. High octane and additive 'Remote Cowboy' is a dynamic sound that perfectly infuses genres to give a great showcase of what Jus Rus has to offer.
