SINGLE REVIEW: Weekly Round-Up 16/10/23 - 22/10/23

KNETX - SOMETHING/NOTHING

'SOMETHING/NOTHING' artfully blends the essence of 90's Britpop with classic rock influences. It's captivating, reminiscent of an Oasis-meets-Radiohead verse with a melodic indie tone that propels you into a grand, anthemic chorus. This track masterfully combines a more understated sound with the larger-than-life presence of stadium-filling rock, all united by a soaring melody. The vocals are immense, exuding a confident tone with just the right touch of rock star attitude. The guitars transition from a charming jangle to hook-heavy, riff-laden grandeur, while the drums shift seamlessly from up-tempo beats to high-impact thunder.

Nick Phoenix - Ashes to Fire

'Ashes and Fire' is a swooping, melodic blast of beautifully charming rhythm. It features chiming guitars backed by bright drums and stunning, twinkling keys. Overlaid with perfectly pitched vocals that carry a unique tone and just the right rasp, this track captures your attention. The eruptive guitars skillfully blend crisp clarity with hazy distortion. Majestic vocal harmonies add depth, creating a soaring, grand aura that envelops the listener.

Cheery - Howl

'Ethereal and electronic, 'Howl' creates a dreamy soundscape of confusion, evoking the sensation of a search for guidance. It's sweeping and elegant, captivating with its hypnotic and artistic nature. The vocals possess a unique, beautiful quality infused with a folk element. The tribal-like drums collide stunningly with the hazy dreamscape of tranquillity. Occasionally, they build into a hammering protest of daunting wonderment before gracefully falling back into the rich, enchanting ambiance.
