SINGLE REVIEW: Voodu - Lose Myself

Los Angeles based Voodu are here to shake up your world with their shape-shifting sound that doesn't rest in one place for long. Latest single 'Lose Myself' is carnage to the ears, bending and breaking everything you thought you knew about genre boundaries.

Beefy riffs, distorted chaos and pounding drums dual with groovy synths and crazy guitar solos. 'Lose Myself' is shocking, electrifying and strangely catchy. It pits rock against dance, industrial and cyberpunk to create a futuristic, ahead of its time sound.

Aggressive and infectious 'Lose Myself' is an explosion of creativity and harrowing songwriting. Protesting the idea that it's so easy to be affected by other people allowing them to "collect my soul" transforming you into a wannabe in your own life. Consumed by the need for approval from those who put themselves on a disillusioned pedestal. Changing to the point you don’t recognise the person you've become. A haunting vision of just how easy it is to be affected by people and society thus morphing into a false version of yourself..

Voodu are original, dynamic and impactful. Their sound doesn't sit still, it's epic, exciting and totally fascinating.

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
