SINGLE REVIEW: The Survival Code - Built to Break

How are London's The Survival Code still unsigned? If there's any justice in the world a label needs to snap this duo up right now!

Their new single 'Built To Break' is some of the best new music you'll hear this year. It infuses a whole plethora of genres to create one of the most versatile, virtuous sounds out there. Groovy, grungy, and a little bit proggy 'Built To Break' is a whirlpool of funky riffs, swooping melodies, hammering drums, and magnificent solos. The Survival Code are sublime musicians who deliver their sound with pride and honesty.

'Built To Break' takes a look at the throw-away mantra of society. The idea that nothing is meant to last and everything is easy to replace. How rather than working at things we discard them and move on to something new. It's a scary delve into how wasteful and dismissive the world has become.

The Survival Code are one of the UK's brightest hopes. Their unique adaptable sound is intoxicating and exhilarating. Go see them live if you can so you can boast in years to come you were there at the start of something really exciting.

Amy

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
