SINGLE REVIEW: Springworks - We Are Not Amused

‘We Are Not Amused' is a bright, cheery singalong, a track that instantly gets your head nodding as it delightfully bounces along with a bright and breezy aura.

Splashy drums blend with up-tempo guitars and beautifully toned, perfectly welcoming vocals, and stunning harmonies. It's a hazy, nostalgic listen, perfectly capturing the early '90s indie scene with hints of a DIY aesthetic and a wonderful pop-infused melody and blissful jangle.

In contrast to the track's vibrant nature, the lyrics delve into misplaced trust, reaching that moment where the shock of betrayal has dissipated, but the full extent of the disappointment is yet to fully sink in.

‘We Are Not Amused’ is a wolf in sheep's clothing, an angry, bitter rock dressed in a jolly, clap-along, sing-your-heart-out ditty.
