SINGLE REVIEW: Soaper - Inside Out

Lincolnshire-based husband and wife duo Soaper share self-produced new single 'Inside Out', their first new music since August 2022's "Demos" EP.

Frantic, fuzzed out, and fizzy with reverby grunge-inspired guitars and added experimentation. Retro and dirty, with Nirvana-comparable sound and a dynamic vibe.

Dripping with DIY hooks, the raw, distorted vocals flood above the noisy atmospheric backdrop of shimmering chords as the drums thunder with gritty impact.

'Inside Out' channels feelings of social anxiety but features an air of positivity and togetherness. The idea that we can lean on others and reach out for help to stitch ourselves back together during times of hardship. An anthem for anyone who feels afraid of the world, confused, lost, and like they don't quite belong anywhere.

Delivered in an effervescent, high-octane, driven way, 'Inside Out' powers through 3 minutes of nostalgia and haze, adding elements enticing modern vocal effects to give it a diverse twist.

Amy

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (Iā€™m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜œ) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
