SINGLE REVIEW: Sixpin - Wasted

Sixpin blast on their brutally honest new single 'Wasted', recounting singer Andy's own experience with addiction and alcoholism.

Channeling the retrospective frustration at all the darkness addiction causes. How it consumes every waking thought and takes over life yet provides nothing but fear and a mind lost to the insatiable desire for a fix or a drink.

Hammering and hard-hitting there's an energetic nu-metal groove running throughout as the vocals shift from pummelling dark metal bellowings to melodic metalcore soarings.

You can feel every piece of pain and regret coursing. 'Wasted' is angry and brimming with fury but also channels vulnerability with confessions of weakness and inability to resist the pull of temptation.

Musically eruptive with killer riffs, thunderous drums and mosh bit starting qualities 'Wasted' is raw, raucous, and brutally honest. There's an additive energy emerging from the track's darkness that's sure to make you feel strangely alive.

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (Iā€™m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜œ) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
