SINGLE REVIEW: Ryan Redwood - Once Again
It's been interesting watching Lowestoft's Ryan Redwood grow and mature both in sound and songwriting. Latest single 'Once Again' sticks to Ryan's heavily 90's influence vibe borrowing from the Britpop era with a vocal style similar to Liam Gallagher's nasally whine.
Musically up-tempo the track is easy to listen to and instantly addictive.
‘Once Again’ has a bolder tone, with a more assertive, confident aura while also still allowing Ryan's endearing personality and raw passion for the music he's creating to shine through.
It features a more attitude laden imagery with the expected soundscape of bouncing, jangling guitars and infectious spirit. It's clear to see Ryan is becoming a more authoritative performer and channelling an ever increasing amount of depth and emotion into his songwriting.
The lyrics tell the heart wrenching tale of how the people that we once held close, who were paramount in our own growth, there to pick up the pieces when things weren't so good fade or change in time leaving nothing but memories. It captures the idea of trying to regain the past, old friends and start again; "run away with me to help me start again, once again"
Ryan is an exceptional young musician who grows in mastery and matures in sound with every record he puts out. 'Once Again' showcases his best music yet. Watch out world, “Our Kid” is only just getting started!
