SINGLE REVIEW: Rhubhys - Anomlia

A beautifully introverted sound, 'Anomlia' is a delightful ethereal indie pop dreamscape with immersive kaleidoscope synths that hauntingly swirl beneath Rhybhys' subtly powerful, sublimely immersive vocals.

The lyrics juxtapose vulnerability and strength, dancing between the idea of being a social outcast; a puzzle piece that won't fit, while simultaneously rejoicing in being an anomaly. It conveys the conviction in your own being to follow a unique path, rejecting burdened ideals that leave you questioning what's real and what's fake. The song encourages embracing everything that makes you different from the crowd.

It's a dreamy rallying call to the outcast and a warning to those who berate them, urging the idea that those who step away from the norm flock together. Those who follow superficial stereotypes may find themselves in an every-man-for-themselves world, realising they're the ones on their own when challenges arise.

While musically soft with a charming synth-pop melody and splashy drums, 'Anomlia' is fierce, with a brutal bite wrapped within its sweet sound. The effective use of tempo changes emphasises the gravity of the words.

Rhubhys is an incredible talent, writing relevant, relatable words delivered in an accessible style. Her voice strikes a perfect balance between hauntingly ethereal, sugary sweet, and confidently filled with attitude. She undoubtedly has a bright future ahead.
