SINGLE REVIEW: Rachel Drew - Blaze for You

Hazy and sultry, 'Blaze for You' carries distinct blues and jazz influences, weaving a seductive and haunting swing with a winding melodic tone. It incorporates elements of cabaret, creating the kind of song that feels fitting for a smoky casino or a bustling bar.

Rachel's voice is both powerful and possesses a rich and absorbing quality, while also bearing a tender nature with an air of vulnerability. The song transitions from quieter, more contemplative melodicism to bursts of eruptive power. The whining violins add an additional layer of captivation, infusing an air of uncertainty into the sound, mirroring the unease within the lyrics.

While, if I'm honest, 'Blaze for You' isn't a song style I would normally reach for, it's a powerful and poignant listen. Rachel's voice is exceptional, and I really enjoyed the sultry energy and mesmerising sound.
