SINGLE REVIEW: oxenef - Skoo

oxenef's 'Skoo' comfortably rests in the slender gully of rap I appreciate – the non-aggressive, notably outside-the-box style that doesn't take itself too seriously. This track uniquely fuses rap with Pendulum-esque DnB vibes, electronic rock elements, and a touch of RnB's melodic nature, creating an interesting blend, even though it's not entirely my usual preference.

The song radiates brightness and catchiness, infusing a creative summer feel. The vocals seamlessly merge rap with a hint of rock attitude, accompanied by subtle 80s theatrics, resulting in an enlightening sound.

While the exact theme eludes me, 'Skoo' appears to have dark undertones that contrast with its light soundscape. The lyrics convey a vengeful sentiment, embracing a dog-eat-dog dynamic and a cause-and-effect notion.

Typically, 'Skoo' might not find its way into my regular playlist, but as a deviation from my usual path, it offers a fun variant. oxenef effectively blends genres to create an infectious tune
