SINGLE REVIEW: leroybroughflowers - Self Defence

Greece born, London based leroybroughflowers offers a calming vibe on new single 'Self Defence'.

Lo-fi and dreamy 'Self Defence' blends R'n'B with elements of pop and soft rap to deliver a relaxing laid back rhythmic jam.

The vocals have indie tendencies as well as offering an occasional hint of reggae. While not strictly my musical style 'Self Defence' is an interesting listen in the way from its understated base it embraces a variety of genres to create a fascinating display of uniqueness.

Hazy and lucid, the track feels like entering a daydream, a semi conscious state controlled by a racing mind full of thoughts. A state of limbo between the world around you and a more hedonistic place in your mind.

leroybringsflowers has a unique take on music, loosely fitting with R'n'B but not really fitting anywhere. His sound is diverse but accessible and his vocals melodic and emotionally charged. 'Self Defence' is a charming, captivating listen.
