SINGLE REVIEW: LASTRY - Trick or Treat

‘Trick or Treat’ is a cinematic, theatrical anthem specifically written for Halloween 2024. It opens with the sound of an old-fashioned clock's pendulum, building a sense of anticipation infused with sinister energy. Spooky vocals evoke a black-and-white film vibe, heightening the creepiness before the pace ramps up to full throttle, accompanied by the scraping of knife blades, a precursor to the main vocal performance.

The song possesses a theatrical and grandiose feel, drawing on elements of shock rock and horror rock, articulated perfectly throughout. The chorus introduces classic hard rock vocals that utilise gang vocals, enhancing the track's anthemic quality. The guitars are spiky and piercing, contributing to an electrifying energy, while the drums thunder beneath the layers of sound.

Sinister clown music further enriches the horror atmosphere, alternating with grand guitar riffs. Soaring progressive moments in the latter part of the song provide additional texture, moving away from the horror aspect to deliver a blast of authentic heavy rock with a technical guitar structure and swooping chords, showcasing a stadium-ready, cinematic nature.

Overall, ‘Trick or Treat’ is a spook fest that’s expertly executed, hauntingly spooky, and most definitely not for the faint of heart—perfect for fight night.
