SINGLE REVIEW: Kai Voltage - Evil Eye

At just two minutes, Kai Voltage’s 'Evil Eye' packs a lot of punch. It starts with tight, rock ‘n’ roll-inspired guitars, but quickly shifts to a grittier sound with distorted vocals, all while maintaining a vibrant rockabilly backbeat. As the fuzz intensifies, the vocals get more overdriven, blending with a thick bassline that gives the track a grunge feel.

The song moves through various moods, from the clean guitar and staggered beats in the verses to the full-throttle energy of the chorus. The guitar solo builds from smooth gain into a wild, fuzzed-out finish, rounding out the track with a raw, powerful statement. Played and recorded entirely by Kai, who also drums live while singing, ‘Evil Eye’ is a whirlwind of sound that showcases his ability to capture intensity and emotion in just a short space of time.
