SINGLE REVIEW: IRKED - Backstreets

'Backstreets' roars with a ballsy and confrontational punk ferocity. It's loud, abrasive, and unapologetically obnoxious. A perfect blast of chaotic energy. The track strategically uses tempo changes to vary its impact, introducing some arthouse articulation to the mix.

Taking a critical look at the creeps lurking in the backstreets of the local music scene, 'Backstreets' explores the unpoliced avenues where problematic behaviour goes unnoticed. The track features erratic, sharp riffs alongside thundering drums and snarling vocals that shapeshift from brash bellowings to pretentious assertions, all bursting with attitude. I appreciate the moments where the singer's fabulous Jordie accent shines through, adding a unique touch to the less raging parts.

'Backstreets' is a triumphant debut! A fiery burst of angry punk that is sure to get your adrenaline pumping.
