SINGLE REVIEW: Huriel - Way

Huriel's 'Way' is a moment of peaceful reflection, four minutes of tranquillity, and a stunning example of 70's inspired folk.

Dreamy and serene 'Way' gives the imagery of a journey down a quiet country lane dotted with trees on a hazy summer's day. Thoughtful and calming with stunning, inviting layered vocals. The soft harmonies are sublime. There's a genuine feeling of homeliness and comfort but also junctures of unease and questioning.

'Way' presents a contemplative moment to reconnect with things that have seeped into the darkness, a bright sound shrouded in heavy-heartedness with an air of mystery and mystical shadows. Time to retrieve what was thought to be lost forever, a chance to decide which of life's paths to take.

The simple yet effective guitars blend with grander moments that really bring the track to life and perfectly contrast the bright with the dark. A subversive and warming yet harrowing listen Muriel have developed a captivating sound that the listener can connect with in any way they feel fitting.

Amy

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
