SINGLE REVIEW: Hovering Shrikes - Things Go Missing

The dark, atmospheric intro leads into the flamboyant, theatrically over-exaggerated grandeur of 'Things Go Missing.' It's articulate and bursting with quirky eccentricities, creating an intriguing and somewhat shocking piece of art that pits drama against noisy chaos. The ostentatious vocals glisten with energetic buoyance above a backdrop of noise, a soundscape that doesn't always seem to fit together perfectly but somehow works to produce a wonderful quilt of sound for the vocals to shock and astound above.

The track features bounding drums, gritty guitars, and layers of darkness, intensity, and exhilaration. 'Things Go Missing' presents an interesting sonic experience, akin to opening a box of decades-old curiosities; a mishmash of shock rock elements, classic guitar riffs, arthouse pizazz comparable to Pulp or The Cure, and noise rock bedlam. It's a track that may not be for the faint of heart but is certainly worth a listen. It delivers a dynamic and cinematic listening experience that is sure to leave you both captivated and bemused.
