SINGLE REVIEW: Forest and the Tree - More Than Friends

Forest and the Tree blast on their latest single 'More Than Friends' a powerful look at how relationships can be destroyed by external forces.

Brimming with fuzzed-out grunge-inspired hooks 'More Than Friends' mixes hazy sounds with classic bluesy vocals. It trudges and bleeds as melted riffs pour over pounding drums and a dirty bassline.

It has a true early 90's rock stance with an authentic Americana feel.

The lyrics take a look at how costly a failed relationship can be both physically and emotionally, more so when the failure has been caused by something no one can control: "right place, bad time, wrong event'. It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of love, loss and the external noise that can sometimes be too loud to be ignored.

'More Than Friends' is an addictive, melodic listen conveyed with sincerity. It's beautifully produced to ensure it retains a raw edge allowing the emotions to be felt.

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
