SINGLE REVIEW: Engraved - Wake Up

New South Wales Metalcore 5 piece ENGRAVED blast with a montage of feelings on latest single 'Wake Up'.

Blending raw vocals with stunning smooth raspy vocals the track presents a battle of emotions. Pain versus anger. The notion of one part of the mind being trapped in turmoil losing control, while the other feeding off the frustrations trying to break free of the chains. 'Wake Up' feels like a deeply personal lyric that the band have poured every part of their being into.

It's an intoxicating diverse slice of metalcore with elements of more groove based metal. Drawing likenesses to Killswitch Engage while the line "I've lost control again" gives off Slipknot energy.

There's epic riffs running throughout that are sure to ignite the mosh out as well as an exhilarating, soaring guitar solo that allows the band a moment of indulgence.

'Wake Up' is grand, impactful with a confident stadium filling sound while also sincere, personal and emotionally charged. ENGRAVED have taken the basic metalcore formula and added their own spark and raw, passionate energy to make the sound theirs.

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
