SINGLE REVIEW: Ceylon Sailor - not where we were

'not where we were' by Ceylon Sailor is the brainchild of New York-based multi-instrumentalist KM Sigel, emerging as a dreamy indie rock anthem from a lo-fi bedroom recording project. This second single from the NYC indie rockers features fuzzy, catchy melodies and chiming, hazy vocals that convey a mix of emotion and introspection.

The track juxtaposes jangly indie melodies with the raw, gritty guitars and powerful drumming typical of grunge, setting a backdrop for lyrics steeped in themes of apathy and angst. It's an anthemic slice of nostalgic fuzz pop, characterized by swirling distorted acoustic guitars, urgent horns, and a driving rhythm section.

'not where we were' narrates a bittersweet tale of a relationship devoid of future prospects, encapsulating a blend of melancholy and nostalgia through its musical arrangement and poignant lyrics.
