SINGLE REVIEW: Bright Falls - Sobering Up

'Sobering Up' kicks off with simple yet impactful guitar riffs that set the stage for the raucous frenzy that ensues. The gritty guitars and rumbling bass drive the track forward with relentless energy. However, the pace takes a welcomed dip as wonderfully melodic and elaborately grand vocals are introduced, adding depth to the track.

While 'Sobering Up' may be a little rough around the edges in places, these imperfections only serve to give it character and authenticity. A standout moment comes with the unexpected blast of rap rock from Bright Fall, injecting a fresh dynamic into the predominantly new wave and alt-rock foundation.

The introspective lyrics delve into feelings of hopelessness and dependency, painting a vivid picture of addiction and the sobering reality that follows. The addition of a more simple piano ballad, transitioning seamlessly into a swooping guitar solo, adds a haunting beauty to the overall sound.

'Sobering Up' may not be flawless, but it's a stellar effort delivered with undeniable passion and sincerity. Its raw authenticity and emotional depth make it a compelling listen that really resonates in a pround and emotive way.
