SINGLE REVIEW: Bleach HCP - Scurry Curry

Scotland's Bleach HCP share energetic new single 'Scurry Curry'

So I'll be honest I still can't quite suss out what a "Scurry Curry" is. The description of it being slang in the band's native Doric dialect for a seagull curry didn't offer any enlightenment, and Google was just as confused as I was. I'm guessing you have to be local to be in the know! The lyrics mention "bits of beak", so maybe they do curry seagulls up there!

That aside, Scurry Curry is a punk-ish, heavy rockin', thrash-esque, blues-infused driven track with killer riffs, hammering drums, and a dirty bassline. It's frantic, fun, and determined, blasting through the mayhem and chaos.

Sounding somewhere between old-school rock like Slayer or Saxon, it borrows shock rock theatrics from more modern bands such as Lordi or GWAR while injecting the raucous disorder of punk and some incredible coarse bluesy vocals.

Boasting a brash, catchy chorus and a screaming whirlpool of guitar dramatics, 'Scurry Curry' is bold, fierce, and sure to send the pits into a frenzy!

I'm Amy a Norfolk girl, currently residing at the seaside.

Age: eternally 21 (I’m really Peter Pan!).

By day I'm a Leaks, Condensation, Damp and Mould Resident Liaison Officer and by night I'm CRB's admin bitch, reviewer extraordinaire, point and hope for the best photographer, paperclip monitor and expert at breaking anything technical then expecting Scott to fix it!

I'm into all kinds of music the more obscure the better (my music taste is definitely better than yours 🤪😜) with my fave band being The Wonder Years.

I'm an Ipswich Town fan and have an unhealthy obsession with hedgehogs!
