SINGLE REVIEW: Augmented Hearts - J. V. H
Sonically impressive, cinematic and very big in sound and space. The first few moments of the song feel very deceiving compared to the vastness Augmented Hearts unleash on an unsuspecting listener. Described as a Heavypop, altrock, altpop band from Missouri, United States. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard recording and production quality this clean and crispy with every layer is subtle yet clear, thrusting you into their soundscape. An achievement for a developing band to display skills and experience this way.
The drums alone are immense in tonality and skill accompanied by the devastating depths of the basslines and duality of light gentle and destructive guitars with overwhelming washes of hard shoegazing effects. The vocals gather such range and depth, they are strong and undeniable. The track carries a lot of heartfelt grief but goodness there is power behind it.
A definite band for fans of Evanescence, Flyleaf, Against The Current.
