Silva unleash album “Forgotten Sanctuary” on October 24th

Silva is a Melodic Black/Death Metal band from Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.

This is their story.

In late 2019, brainchild Taylor Haagensen became particularly infatuated with the sounds of classic melodic black and death metal bands such as Dawn, Dissection, Hypocrisy, and old Amon Amarth. He also wanted lyrics that reflected upon the natural landscapes of Minnesota as well as his own inner emotions.

At some point in 2020 or 2021 after much searching and deliberation, a complete lineup came to fruition, featuring the great talents of Aaron Lanik and Roman Pinter. Their natural and distinct talents meshed with the music and general atmosphere of Silva’s music in short order. It was then time to record the debut full-length album, Forgotten Sanctuary.

From this point on the album was painstakingly tracked, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Pinter, Lanik, and Haagensen until a final satisfactory product was completed.

Artists Stefan Todorović and Christophe Szpajdel were commissioned for the release’s artwork and logos, as their legendary skills have stood the test of time.

Friend of the band Carl Skildum proved to be an invaluable voice of advice and support during the entire creative process. He also contributed a solo to a track on the album and designed the layout.

In 2022 and 2023 Silva has performed two live rituals thus far, one of which was opening for the mighty Batushka, Hate, Hideous Divinity, and Begravement in October, while the other was Fleshgod Apocalypse, Obscura, Wolfheart, and Thulcandra in February.

Select rituals, including a to-be-determined CD release performance, will be held in the near future.
