Sheringham, Norfolk: Singer/Songwriter Paul Thompson to perform at Cromer’s Crab and Lobster Festival on May 19th

Milk Float Musician Returns to Crab and Lobster Festival

Sheringham musician Paul Thompson is performing a special concert on 19th May at Cromer  Community Centre, for this year’s Crab and Lobster Festival. Paul previously performed at the  festival in 2015, giving his very first outdoor concert with his mobile milk float stage ‘Bluebell’,  that Paul went on to travel with to the Edinburgh Festival, gaining a Guinness World Record  for ‘the longest journey by electric milk float.’

‘I’m really excited to be returning to the Crab and Lobster Festival,’ says Paul, ‘as it has great  memories for me. I performed outside the entrance to Cromer Pier standing beneath the  hatch of the milk float, surrounded by a giant crab and lobster. It was a very surreal  experience, and I managed to get stuck with the milk float afterwards on the fisherman’s  slope, which was too steep for the milk float to climb. I wondered how I was ever going to  reach Scotland, but by some minor miracle we eventually did it!’

Paul has written a book ‘Floating to the Fringe’ about his epic milk float journey, and will be  telling tales of his milk float adventures at the gig at Cromer Community Centre, as well as  performing the songs from his latest album ‘Lone Star’, which also has an accompanying book  of short-stories. Joining Paul on stage will be multi-instrumentalist Steve Fordington, and  Cromer folk duo The Browns, who will be playing songs from their new album ‘Still the Same’.

Tickets for the event on 19th May cost £7, and are available online via the Cromer Community  Centre website, or on the door, which opens at 7pm for an 8pm start.
