Shawn Brown Announces New Single "Hold Fast" For October 25th Release

PORTLAND, OR (10/8/24) - PDX singer-songwriter Shawn Brown has announced his newest single “Hold Fast.” Set for an October 25th release, the track is part of recent recording sessions in Portland with famed producer Grecco Buratto (Shakira, Tegan and Sara, Lionel Richie) and will be included on a soon to be announced EP. “Hold Fast” will be his first release since the February 24’ release of his highly praised single “The Sad Ones.”

Shawn Brown has always been a shapeshifter musically, effortlessly weaving together folk, R&B, and roots influences into a sound that’s as emotionally rich as it is sonically adventurous. His music carries an authenticity and vulnerability that instantly connects with listeners, offering a deeply personal, almost confessional tone that never feels forced. Brown’s songwriting has only gotten sharper with time; his unforgettable falsetto effortlessly glides through songs that explore his own struggles, triumphs, and the messy beauty of personal growth. For Brown, music is more than just a release—it’s a lifeline.

Brown’s genre-defying sound is a testament to his eclectic taste and deep roots in soul, R&B, and guitar-driven pop, with a palpable love for the grit and soul of roots rock. After taking a hiatus from the music scene, he returned with a series of critically acclaimed singles like “The Sad Ones,” “Angel Of Oakland,” “Testify,” and “Road of Bones”—each track blurring the lines between styles, while honing his unique voice and vision. Now, with his highly anticipated new single “Hold Fast” dropping on October 25, 2024, Brown is poised to continue his genre-bending evolution, pushing the boundaries of what modern roots music can sound like.
