SHARKS AND MINNOWS indie-rock stalwarts drop new singles

Indie-rock stalwarts SHARKS AND MINNOWS return after a decade of dormancy, projecting a refreshing kaleidoscope of atmospheric visions recalling the strangely cinematic journeys one experiences while under the influence of a fever dream.

The regret, anxiety, and disorientation you feel after a night of heavy drinking makes the next day very difficult to get through. If you have enough drunken nights, then that difficulty can last years. "Song from Under the Lampshade" pieces together blackout nights by re-tracing steps through Atlanta to figure out where we were with a lampshade on our head.

The sudden, unexpected death of a loved one well before their time has a profound impact on family and friends. Trying to make sense of that loss can become an overwhelming experience that is almost impossible to express. "Z" successfully puts these complex feelings into words, nestling them deep in a bed of fuzzy guitar and meticulously crafted as a vessel for grief, anger, and fond remembrance.

Gracefully navigating trajectories in danceable pop coupled with furious punk ethos, SHARKS AND MINNOWS embraces heartfelt, emotive lyricism and experimentally challenges the norms typified in classic indie rock circles.  Teeming with enthusiasm and presenting a newfound maturity in both their songcraft and performance, the quartet delivers a melancholic tapestry that is equally noisy and deceptively melodic while dredging the depths of the human experience.
