Scottish Troubadour Jake Sowerby Drops Rousing New Single 'Up All Night'
Jake Sowerby is a twenty-two-year-old Pop artist from the same small area in Scotland as Lewis Capaldi, The Snuts and Dylan Fraser.
His first release, All Night Long, is a project he worked on with American artist Matty Beats. In early 2021, Matty Beats reached out to Jake Sowerby, mentioning he liked Jake Sowerby's voice and wanted to work on a project together. After some time, All Night Long came to life.
The track mixes aspects from Jake Sowerby's and Matty Beats' styles, combining mix UK and USA Pop into one unique track combining UK-style melodic acoustic guitar pop riffs with a vibey USA-style pop beat.
“All Night Long is an anthem for the summer, a song for escaping life and enjoying the summer nights” explains Sowerby “It’s about hope when life gets too much and leaves you feeling down, a song to get you up and dancing again on summer nights, about love, hopes and dreams, a feeling you never want to end. Hence, the name All Night Long.”
Sowerby recorded the vocals for All Night Long with Moteh Parrott, a shortlisted Inverness singer-songwriter for the ‘BBC Radio Singer-Songwriter Finalist Award 2019’ and has supported Katie Gregson-Macleod. Moteh Parrott helped bring the track to life, helping with some backing vocals and giving ideas to improve the vocals for All Night Long.
