Renowned Texan musician Scott H. Biram is set to captivate audiences once again with his upcoming album, “The One & Only Scott H. Biram.” The record marks Biram's 13th overall and 9th with Bloodshot Records, showcasing his unwavering dedication to crafting authentic, unapologetic music.
Born and raised on the outskirts of Austin, Scott H. Biram embodies the spirit of Texas music, drawing inspiration from legendary figures such as Doug Sahm, Roky Erickson, and Gibby Haines. Reflecting on his roots, Biram acknowledges, “My dad played sax a little bit around the house. My uncles played guitar together in a band. There were always guitars and pianos around”.
When the pandemic brought the world to a standstill, undeterred by external challenges, Biram seized the opportunity to delve deep into his craft, resulting in the creation of nine original compositions and two traditional covers for his latest offering. He explains, “I’m constantly trying to go back to the junky, lo-fi sounds of my early records.”
Reflecting on his artistic journey, Biram acknowledges his roots in San Marcos, Texas, where he first discovered his passion for music. As he growls out lyrics, describing the hazards of growing up poor in a small Texas town, he reflects, “My music has a lot of aggression to it. I express myself without holding back.”

The songs on the album cover a wide array of themes, including mortality, romance, religion, drinking, and memories of the past. “I studied art in college, so I think of my albums as collages. I grew up playing in punk, metal, blues, country and bluegrass bands, so I throw in a bunch of stuff to see what resonates” - reflects Biram.
He elaborates, “I’ll follow a heavy blues tune with a tender love song, just the way life is, no one theme. I’m not tryna write a rock opera. Most of the time, I’m just getting’ shit off my chest.” This approach results in an eclectic mix of tracks that defy categorization, reflecting the multifaceted nature of Biram's artistic vision.
