Rykarda Parasol releases album 'Tuesday Morning'

Rykarda Parasol's first album in more than 8 years,

Tuesday Morning - OUT NOW!

Tuesday Morning offers a look into the metamorphosis Parasol has gone through since taking a hiatus after her last album. Recorded between San Francisco and Paris, the record evokes scenes of Haight-Absbury in its heyday while also offering twinges of dark Francophile psychedelia. Themes of recovery, the relationship between predators and prey, and entanglements are explored lyrically throughout the collection of songs, showcasing Parasol’s skills as not only a physical collagist, but a sonic collagist too.

Key track: "Get Down With Your Bad Self"

RIYL: Melody's Echo Chamber, Katy J Pearson, CMAT, Matilda Mann, Pillow Queens

ABOUT RYKARDA PARASOL:

For those familiar with Rykarda Parasol’s music, know it has steadily progressed from the dark to light while still maintaining Parasol’s darkly-tinged voice and subdued off-center style. Parasol began playing music in her hometown of San Francisco yet soon began performing to a wider audience including Europe. After her fourth album, she went on hiatus, moved to Paris, France, and set out to research and write a book directed at teens about respect and emotional abuse, but paused the project when she befriended Parisian/Corsican musician, Marc Ottavi. The camaraderie subsequently fueled Tuesday Morning, which features three co-written songs.

“Tuesday Morning” captures the cool shadowy chic of the Velvet Underground while offering up an elegant take on psych and 60s styled pop like Jacques Dutronc. The album also features a French cover song of Zouzou’s “Ne Cherche Pas'“. Known too for her self-made emblematic cover art, Parasol suggests a very different take on things than her earlier work. “Tuesday Morning” was produced by Parasol and recorded primarily in San Francisco with her long-time engineer/bassist, Mark Pistel (Consolidated / Meat Beat Manifesto) with added recording and production in Paris, France with Marc Ottavi and like her earlier albums also features keyboardist Marc Capelle (American Music Club) and drummer, Danny Luehring.
