1. U Never…. A newer idea that was a quickly developed and added to the EP just a few months back. Listening to the “TURBO” era of Judas Priest , I got the vibe pretty quick and after adding vocals it felt a bit like Alice Cooper as well. It’s a heavier tune with some great guitar work by Jake Branscome. (an old friend and former bandmate, who can just really shred when he wants too.) The lead he played on this really fit well. **Lead guitar: Jake Branscome
2. Hard Time Lady - a guitar riff started this whole idea right off the bat. It’s got a bit of a KISS/Ace Frehley feel to it. There are some hints of The Sweet as well. A straight up rocker about what else….a girl. The type of song I like best and seems to always fit right in my wheelhouse. I could write a whole record of stuff like this. Upbeat and drivin’! This was another newer idea that was added in recent months.
3. Mr. Spiffster - now this song was one of the originals I had planned on putting on the EP from Day 1 back in 2022 when I first started the whole EP. I had been listening to a lot of early 80’s stuff and wanted to do something with a feel of “My Sharona” by The Knack. It started off that way, but as I continued to develop the idea and work on things….it evolved into something else. Still a bit on the power pop side, it’s a commercial style song. (about a guy who had it all in school and had everything handed to him, then he grows up (or doesn’t) and his whole world starts to fall apart.) He wasn’t so cool after all.
4. That’s The Way - from the time I first started writing this one, I fell in love with it. A great catchy, glam rock edged tune. The pre-chorus section and going into the chorus is full on fun and has a real KISS vibe going on in it. If I had to project a single - this would be the one. Feels like it would work.
5. The Dotted Line - an older song that I had been working on but never finished going back to my Bubblegum Radio EP. About a rockstar who fame has faded and the constant battle to still be noticed. A great riff and tempo. Some cool harmonies in there. It’s a fun song. Glad I finally finished it.
