1. U Never…. A newer idea that was a quickly developed and added to the EP just a few months back. Listening to the “TURBO” era of Judas Priest , I got the vibe pretty quick and after adding vocals it felt a bit like Alice Cooper as well. It’s a heavier tune with some great guitar work by Jake Branscome. (an old friend and former bandmate, who can just really shred when he wants too.) The lead he played on this really fit well.  **Lead guitar: Jake Branscome

2. Hard Time Lady - a guitar riff started this whole idea right off the bat. It’s got a bit of a KISS/Ace Frehley feel to it. There are some hints of The Sweet as well. A straight up rocker about what else….a girl. The type of song I like best and seems to always fit right in my wheelhouse. I could write a whole record of stuff like this. Upbeat and drivin’! This was another newer idea that was added in recent months.

3. Mr. Spiffster - now this song was one of the originals I had planned on putting on the EP from Day 1 back in 2022 when I first started the whole EP. I had been listening to a lot of early 80’s stuff and wanted to do something with a feel of “My Sharona” by The Knack. It started off that way, but as I continued to develop the idea and work on things….it evolved into something else. Still a bit on the power pop side, it’s a commercial style song. (about a guy who had it all in school and had everything handed to him, then he grows up (or doesn’t) and his whole world starts to fall apart.) He wasn’t so cool after all.

4. That’s The Way - from the time I first started writing this one, I fell in love with it. A great catchy, glam rock edged tune. The pre-chorus section and going into the chorus is full on fun and has a real KISS vibe going on in it. If I had to project a single - this would be the one. Feels like it would work.

5. The Dotted Line - an older song that I had been working on but never finished going back to  my Bubblegum Radio EP. About a rockstar who fame has faded and the constant battle to still be noticed. A great riff and tempo. Some cool harmonies in there. It’s a fun song. Glad I finally finished it.

RICH KID EXPRE$$ is a solo rock project by Rob Richardson. (Squib Kick Records) A retro mix of seventies Glam/Bubblegum and eighties style Hard Rock.

Growing up listening to KISS, and watching Saturday Morning Cartoons has a profound effect on a little kid. From the Bubblegum sounds of the Bay City Rollers to the crunch of AC/DC, one’s mind can be filled with loud guitars and cartoonish style rock and roll! Rob took his favorite influences from the seventies, full steam ahead into the mid-eighties where the LA Scene exploded and the mystique of the Headbanger’s Ball Generation, was erupting! Barely out of high school, this small town kid took up the drums and tried to turn a fun hobby into something more significant. But...the scene dwindles, times and music change and some people just stumble in “too late,” to the party.

Needless to say, the story continued with Rob playing in band’s throughout the Nineties and 2K’s, (releasing two CD’s with HEAVENS SAKE)....forming his own small Independent Rock Record label and building a studio for the joy of recording. That brings us up to the present. Without the hassle of explaining anymore of the boring details - let’s just say Rob and his one man band, don’t try to re-invent the wheel...he just writes and records the music he loved growing up with and tries to put his own twist on the seventies and eighties style rock. Aiming to please the hard rock fans with some new music!

INFLUENCES: KISS, AC/DC, Sweet, Joan Jett, W.A.S.P., Spinal Tap...(to name a few)
