Red Eye Pariah release single 'Words' from their forthcoming EP 'Tequila King'
Formed in April 2021, Red Eye Pariah have had a meteoric rise in both the Irish and UK music scenes built, in part, on their reputation for high energy performances. Their energetic instrumentals, that blend between genres, are accompanied by catchy melodies that solidify their unique style.
The band have received multiple radio plays on RTE, BBC Radio Ulster, and most recently Radio X DJ John Kennedy premiered their single ‘The Rounds’ in January of this year. They have sold out multiple venues in Belfast and supported major stars like Princess Goes To The Butterfly Museum, False Heads, Michael C. Hall, Tom Meighan, and Electric Six.
In May of 2024 the band planned and booked an independent UK tour calling in Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield, Bristol, London and Liverpool. The tour was a roaring success prompting them to return to Ireland and headline the Henry McCullough stage at Stendhal Festival, following up with a run of Irish shows this November in Belfast, Derry, Dublin and Cork.

'Tequila King' is the second EP by Amalga Rock outfit Red Eye Pariah. Having released three of the tracks this year, the fourth and final track will see the entire compilation come into fruition. The EP was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Neal Calderwood in Manor Park Studio. The track order of the EP is intended to tell a story of new beginnings that turn into varied experiences. The ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ of these experiences are explored through the middle of the EP with a bittersweet farewell rounding out the record.
“We wanted to tell a story but give everyone the opportunity to decide which character they are and how they fit into it. All our music is based on our experiences because it’s important our art reflects our reality. We also believe on leaving things open to interpretation and Tequila King was our way to get the best of both worlds.”
1. These Daze Have Just Begun
These Daze Have Just Begun often referred to by the band as 'Daze' is a hard hitting coming of age soundtrack with catchy hooks and melodies that rattle around your brain for days on end. The band seen this song as a note to self about things getting better. This song was to remind the band that whatever it is that's pressing them, it's not forever. The first verse is about how life can be a bit sh*t, and it resolves in the second verse. It's a mixture of encouraging self-love, and trusting that there's light at the end of the tunnel.
2. The Rounds
The Rounds outlines the infatuation that people have when they first meet, and it emphasizes the same emotional investment being as strong after being through a lot together. This doesn't necessarily have a negative overtone; it plays to making memories and getting older while still sharing a connection with someone special.
3. Words
The last to be released of the EP but certainly not the least. Words is another self-reflective piece that explores situations around what we have described as toxic confidence. We feel people will be able to relate to this from someone they’ve come across who is living in their own self-fabricated reality and they’re their own centre of attention. The type of person who’s been to both Tenerife and Elevenereife.
4. So Long
So Long is about acknowledging how meeting someone, even for a short period of time can be so special. Farewells like the one that the song references, is a bittersweet occurrence of people parting ways when the time is right, but the feeling is not.
