President Elect Release Debut Single ‘Rebound’

On the 9th June, West London’s President Elect will release their new single ‘REBOUND’. t is their debut single, following a positive response to a collection of demo releases, such as ‘Addicted’ and ‘Last Forever EP’, that gained support from the likes of BBC Radio Essex. Recorded by Tayte Nickols of Mad Fox Studios in Manchester, this new release also signifies a new era for the band and a refined, ‘in your face’ sound. ‘REBOUND’ especially highlights the band’s 90s-00s influences, with references for the track including Paramore, Blink-182 and Placebo.
President Elect are an electrifying, alternative rock powerhouse, driven by Iggy Waller (vocals and bass), Vincent Barulis (lead guitar), Jude Crook (rhythm guitar) and Zak Waller (drums). With a repertoire of songs that merge captivating hooks with relatable lyricism and distinctive vocals, all whilst capturing an essence that is somewhat nostalgic of late 90s and early 2000s, President Elect are a striking collective that are set to impact the indie rock scene in the upcoming months.
The band was originally formed by twins Zak and Iggy Waller in 2019. They quickly attained a strong relationship with their audience, with lyrics being sung back to them even at their earliest performances. This sparked the growth of President Elect when the boys moved to London in 2021, with the addition of lead guitarist Vincent Barulis helping to transform their already well-established songwriting into the larger-than-life tracks that have since infiltrated the London live music scene. In 2022, rhythm guitarist Jude Crook joined the band, completing the line-up and elevating their sound further. They have built a strong reputation for themselves as a tight, energetic and sought-after live act, notably supporting on a number of sold-out shows, as well as headlining a recent sold-out show at The Hope & Anchor, Islington and being selected to play this year’s Vale Fest.
When speaking of their debut single, Iggy says “Rebound is a song full of energy and drive, with the aim to get people singing their hearts out and dancing. We can't wait to play it live!”
