Shares new video & single “Itch"
Announces solo show for next month at London’s Sebright Arms
New album Shirt out September 13th
Tour this Autumn includes London’s Heaven
Porches shares new single “Itch,” the latest preview of his forthcoming sixth studio album Shirt, due out September 13th via Domino. “Itch” is a bass-heavy rock song bloated with desire, repulsion and cockiness. Aaron Maine sings, “Apply some pressure to the cracks / Now we only dress in black” – these are big feelings exploded into an array of familiar tropes and strange actors. “Itch” comes via a video featuring the Porches live band, directed by Nick Harwood alongside director of photography Ben Carey.

“Itch” follows the previously released singles “Joker” (“as pop-forward as his most well-known material. This time, however, guitars are more in focus, complementing his… unmistakable vocals with aplomb.” - Uproxx) and “Rag” (“unsettling and groovy and seductive and rowdy” - Stereogum).
A concise record that thrusts listeners into a fevered state, Shirt’s hormonal rock songs collide with emotional ballads to create a dynamic tension that propels the listener ahead. The album speaks in broad, relatable terms while maintaining an intimate connection with its creator, blurring the line between universality and personal revelation. Shirt is as much about the climaxes as it is about the banality between life's most memorable moments, celebrating not just the first kiss but also the anxiety intertwined with it.
Shirt is instantly recognizable as Porches' heaviest album to date. Grungy guitars that shine with a menacing glint, drums and bass that punch you warmly in the stomach, interspersed with moments of eerie calmness to create a physical sense of tension and release that resonates with each track.
Ahead of a UK & European tour that takes in London’s Heaven in October, Porches has confirmed a solo show for London’s Sebright Arms on July 11th.
