Returns with new single “Rag”
Announces UK & European Autumn tour
Includes date at London’s Heaven 2nd Oct
Porches, the recording project of NYC’s Aaron Maine, returns today with new single “Rag.” “Rag” is a song that sets expectations and flips them: it begins as an acoustic bounce along the road that quickly spirals into the raw and bratty energy of a band playing their first party. The track comes via a video directed by longtime collaborators Nick Harwood alongside director of photography Ben Carey.

Alongside the release of “Rag” comes a limited edition “Rag” shirt which is available for purchase via the Porches store here.
“Rag” follows Porches’ last album All Day Gentle Hold !, which was released in 2021 and garnered some of the best reviews of Maine’s career - the record was hailed as “some of his most succinct and enjoyable songwriting to date” (Pitchfork) and “the most refined iteration of his craft thus far: a burst of pure, energetic feeling” (Nylon). Porches’ ensuing headlining tour sold out venues across North America, and the band then opened a US tour for Phoenix that included shows at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Phoenix’s Thomas Mars later handpicked the Porches fan favourite track “Country” to include in Sofia Coppola’s 2023 film Priscilla. In the last two years, Maine has also appeared as the face of Versace Jeans Couture and collaborated with the Atlanta pop duo Coco & Clair Clair and funk-pop artist Remi Wolf.
