London garage rock crew Out Of Love are best known for their slacker punk anthems and explosive live shows. New single ‘No Fakes Allowed’ is out 16th June and carries on their fine tradition of self-deprecating singalongs and fuzzed up riffery. Commenting on the new single vocalist Jack Rogers says:

“This track is about imposter syndrome, not fitting in and believing all the noise your head throws at you. I think we all feel at some point in our lives suffer some form of imposter syndrome. I started getting it terribly, when we started touring. I constantly felt like we didn’t deserve certain opportunities, that we weren’t welcome in certain clicks and to be honest 99.9% was made up by myself. No fakes allowed is for the outsiders!”

Whilst maintaining a steady job designing merch for artists ranging from Bring Me The Horizon to Type O Negative, the Out Of Love frontman found himself in a rather interesting position when asked to provide his signature snarl to a brand new Netflix series. As Rogers explains:

“About this time last year I got a text from Lags (Gallows/Venn Records) asking me if I’d be interested in helping Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire) out in singing over a track he has recorded for TV. I was obviously curious as I’d never done anything like this before so I spoke to Wade about the brief, and he informed me it would be a ‘punk’ version of the children’s nursery rhyme ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ to go cover a shoot out scene on a new Arnold Schwarzenegger series. I wasn’t gonna turn this down, shit sounded nuts! So we went full brit punk and I tried to dig into my charming southern accent as much as I could. I submitted my take, Wade approved and we waited for it to get signed off on by the production team. All was good and it’s out now on Netflix. Bit of a random one but a great experience nonetheless!”

You could say it’s another story about the punk rock community looking out for each other. ‘No Fakes Allowed’ is out 16th June via Venn Records (Europe) and Secret Friends Music Group (ROW).

‘No Fakes Allowed’ is the follow up to ‘Unplug My Head’ and taken from the forthcoming EP ‘Welcome to the Luv’ out 11/08/2023.
