Out Now: Keeping the Old-School Brit Indie Flame Alive – The Beautiful Game’s ‘Hollywood in Holloway’
‘HOLLYWOOD IN HOLLOWAY’
THE BEAUTIFUL GAME are a five piece alt-rock indie band from London composed of Jason Crowley on vocals, Lawrence Bonavia on Guitar, Steven Foxley on Guitar, Paul Jeffrey on Bass and Katie Padfield on Drums.
THE BEAUTIFUL GAME has a sound that manages to keep that old school Brit indie flame alive and kicking channelling the likes of The Stone Roses, The Libertines, Oasis and The Jam with their very own panache and unique spin on things. The sound is distinctly Britpop, but Britpop with a difference.
The five-piece create rousing melodies with life affirming lyrics and stadium worthy choruses making them a very exciting band and one that you have most definitely been waiting for if you're not already familiar with them.
The latest single to be lifted from their upcoming album is the dynamic, and invigorating ‘Hollywood in Holloway’. The track starts as it means to go on with rousing, fast strumming guitars and dancing drum beats. The vocals are powerful and the chorus hook is potent and formidable in its delivery making for a truly stand out track.
Jason Crowley has said of the track:-
“I wrote the lyrics to this song whilst working in a bar on the Holloway Road. It’s a road that never sleeps. There’s the rich and the poor, there’s football and war. Living in London isn’t easy, but I couldn’t live without it.”
‘Hollywood in Holloway’ was written by Jason Crowley, Lawrence Bonavia, Steven Foxley, Paul Jeffrey and Katie Padfield collectively and it was Produced and Mixed by Beau Blaise at Regents Studios in London.
