Intricate and rich with awesome understatement, Ohio’s evolving alternative folk five-piece, Caamp return to announce their first album in three years with the intimate and introspective new single Drive – OUT NOW. The track’s sparse beauty gives fans the first, delicate introduction to Copper Changes Color, their new, 11-track album set for release on Fri 6 June 2025 on Mom+Pop.

Separated by both time and distance from their ever-growing family of fans in the UK for over three years, concluding their 2022 Lavender Days Tour at Dublin’s Button Factory after celebratory nights at major venues including the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and Manchester Academy, the news of a fresh album from the deliberately slow-smoldering band will raise hopes of a live return.

Caamp’s recently announced US tour dates will serve only to amplify expectations. Those shows, including multiple nights at iconic venues like New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, Chicago’s Salt Shed and Boston’s MGM Music Hall, have been met with high demand with many shows already sold out.

Bringing the smooth, sweeping melody of Drive to the table as a scene-setter for summer’s album release, the rich and raw vocals of front man and primary songwriter, Taylor Meier are put front and centre. It’s described by Meier as “a kind of a spirit song for the record and new era. It’s like the carabiner clipped to your jeans in high school; it sticks with you.”

Copper Changes Color was written, performed and produced by the band over two years, with recording and co-production shared with Grammy-winning collaborators, Beatriz Artola (Fleet Foxes, Adele, Sharon Van Etten) and Tucker Martine (Modest Mouse, My Morning Jacket, R.E.M.). It promises to be an album brimming with rich, evocative storytelling, balancing warmth and depth with an openness to new creative territory.

Drawing inspiration from his love of nature and the weathering and distinct patina of copper, Meier uses the album title as a powerful metaphor for the transformative experiences of the past few years. “Take your rings off and wash your hands,” he shares. “Wrap something tightly in newspaper; give it away. Water is running, and Copper Changes Color.”

Drive follows more recent releases out onto listener playlists and into Caamp’s live set lists, having released the four-track Somewhere EP in February, featuring the lilting charm of lead single, Let Things Go, which made further waves in the US including Top 5 Billboard chart entry.

Released on multiple formats, including vinyl, CD and digital, the full track listing for Caamp’s Copper Changes Color, has been confirmed by the band as follows:

1. Millions
2. One True Way ft. Madi Diaz
3. Brush
4. Porchswing
5. Fairview Feeling
6. Shade
7. Waiting Up (For You)
8. Mistakes
9. Ohio’s Ugly
10. Living & Dying & In Between
11. Drive

Having emerged in 2016 with the release of their first, self-titled album, the band – made up of Meier alongside multi-instrumentalist co-founder, Evan Westfall, Matt Vinson (bass) and Joseph Kavalec (keys), Caamp quickly established their status amongst a new elite of bands pushing at the possibilities of US alt-folk and finding a global audience. Following up with a further three albums, Boys (2018), By & By (2019) and Lavender Days (2022), critical and audience acclaim for the band’s progressive songcraft has come hand-in-hand with their popularity as a live phenomenon. Furthermore, the band has amassed more than 2.5 billion streams worldwide to date.
